A fine example of scientific illustration and the skeletal structure of animals and/or amphibians, this large format poster was originally mounted onto buckram and presented in educational institutions in Europe during the mid twentieth century.
Educator and pioneering author and illustrator Dr. Björn Ursing (Kalmar 1888-1973) was a biologist and associate professor who taught biology and chemistry at the Higher General Education for Girls at Norrmalm in Stockholm from 1935-56. Upon retirement Ursing pursued his interest in scientific illustration as well as botanical illustration, thus becoming a pioneer in the field of nature guides documenting the wild flora of Sweden. His published works include Swedish Plants Vol. I , II, and Swedish Animal World Vol. I, II. Stockholm: Nordic Rotogravure, 1956.
