Lowry-James Rare Prints & Books was established in 1986 by Priscilla Anne Lowry, art historian passionate about the work of John James Audubon, early naturalist explorers and illustrators and the fine art of Natural History from the 16th - 19th centuries. She holds an honors degree in Art History from Purchase College, has completed several courses at Rare Book School at UVA and attended the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar. A former member of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America she served on the Board of Governors and Chaired the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the ABAA.
